School ProfileOur school is situated along Mumias Road inside Uhuru Estate .It has eight (8) Classrooms with an enrollment of 360 students and 22 teachers, two (2) science laboratories, a computer laboratory, a kitchen, staff and students ablution blocks.

School Motto: Serve to ReignHistoryThe School was started as a joint effort from leaders of 7 (seven) primary schools in Bahati Location viz; Nairobi River, Buru Buru I, Uhuru, Dr. Livingstone, Kimathi, Bahati and Morrison.A Harambee Funds Drive was held in August 1988.
On 9th January,1989 a Ground –Breaking Ceremony was conducted and construction work for the first classroom block was started. On 2nd February,1989 the first batch of Form I students were enrolled. There were three teachers by then. Teaching was conducted at the adjacent Uhuru Primary School at the time. It moved in 1990 to its current site in 1990 after the construction of the existing infrastructure.
Uhuru Secondary School was initially a Mixed School. Girls were eventually moved to Nile Road Secondary School. |
